About CloudToolbox

CloudToolbox is an independent collection of free, single-purpose web tools: image converters and editors, a PDF merger, finance calculators and developer utilities. There's no sign-up and no paid tier. The site is paid for by advertising.

How the tools handle your files

Most tools run entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your device. When a browser can't do the job (an iPhone HEIC photo, for example), the file is sent to our server, processed, and deleted automatically, normally within 24 hours. Tools that can work either way tell you which one happened. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Who writes the blog

Posts on the blog are written by the CloudToolbox Team, the people who build and maintain the tools. We write about the problems the tools exist to solve: an iPhone photo a website won't accept, a logo in the wrong color, an app icon Xcode keeps rejecting.

How we test what we publish

• Every example is run on real files with the same code the tools use. The before-and-after images and the file sizes you see in a post are the actual output, not mock-ups.
• When something doesn't work well, we say so, and we show the failed attempt too. A guide that only shows the best case isn't much use when your file is the hard case.
• Photos we didn't take ourselves are public domain or CC0, and each one is credited in its caption.
• When we revise a post, it shows an "Updated" date next to the original publish date.
